该宝石优化炉还可以对红蓝宝石进行宝石改色等热处理。莫桑石提亮除杂优化炉为气氛保护高温烧结炉、又称莫桑石高温优化炉、莫桑石改色调质炉。
宝石优化炉是在真空高温或气氛保护状态下，通过热处理来改善钻石品质的一种专用设备，预抽一定的真空后通入氮气、氩气等
惰性气体，使工件不会产生氧化脱碳，从而提高钻石品质。
